Fritz MANDL, born on January 5
th, 1915 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Ing. Oskar Mandl (civil servant "Oberbaurat" at Austrian Railway Company OeBB, deceased) and Alice Mandl (née Hollaender), lived in Vienna's 7
th district, Museumstrasse 3, and was enrolled since 1933 at the Medical School and at the same time (since May 1
st 1937) demonstrator at the department of medical chemistry (head:
Prof. Otto Fürth) and got a grant from the medical School.
Mandl was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 5
th and last year of his medical studies (the term was no more validated due to "lack of attendence", a Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on June 30
th, 1938.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason - although of protestant faith ("evangel. AB") since 1921 - and lost his position and salary as a demonstrator (he was fired per March 31
st, 1938) and was forced to leave the University of Vienna.
