Anna Simona SPIEGEL-ADOLF (born on February 23rd, 1893 in Vienna as daughter of Jacques Adolf (attorney), died in 1983) was lecturer ('Dozent') for Angewandte medizinische Chemie at the Medical School of the University of Vienna.
During her studies at the Medical School of the University of Vienna she worked at the department of histology and bacteriology and at the department of applied medical chemistry. After her graduation as Dr. med. in 1918 she was engaged at the department of pathology of the hospital Rudolfstiftung and at the neurological department of the University of Vienna. At the same time she passed practical courses of applied and medical chemistry at the Philosophical School of the University of Vienna. Since 1923 she worked as assistant professor at the laboratory of physiochemical biology and temporarily at the laboratory of "Lichtbiologie und Lichtpathologie" at the department of physiology and at the department of immunology. In 1931 she was promoted untenured professor of applied medical chemistry specialised for physico-biological chemistry and medical colloidchemistry at the University of Vienna.
In the same year Anna Simona Spiegel-Adolf became professor at the Temple University, Philadelphia, where she founded and headed the department of Colloidchemistry.

She was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost her position and was thrown out of the university on April 22nd, 1938.

She remained residing in the USA - since 1934 she held the US-American citizenship. She held her position of a professor and head of the Department of Colloidchemistry at the Temple University, Medical School, in Philadelphia.
