Jakob SATZ, born on May 26^th, 1919 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Josef Satz (1883–1967, merchant) and Dora Satz (née Katz, 1893–1964), lived in Vienna's 20^th district, Karl-Meissl-Strasse 9/59, was enrolled finally in the spring term of 1938 at the Medical School in the 1^st year of his studies. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna. His elder sister Blanka SATZ (MOSCISKER) (1917-2009), who studied at the Philosophical School, was also expelled from the University of Vienna. He had to flee Vienna and managed to obtain a visa for Luxembourg as late as 1938, where he knew no one, with transit through Switzerland, where an aunt of his lived. His attempt to stay there illegally failed, but his aunt helped him at least to obtain a studentcertificate for Palestine [Israel] and he was able to emigrate there successfully. He also began to study again in Palestine, but was unable to complete his studies. His sister was able to emigrate to England with her parents and survived there without being able to pursue her original educational goal. Jakob Satz died in April 1996 in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel.
