Rudolf LEIDLER (born on March 11th, 1880 in Prag, died on August 7th, 1938 in Vienna) was lecturer ('Dozent') for Ohrenheilkunde at the Medical School of the University of Vienna.
He was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost his position and was thrown out of the university on April 22nd, 1938. His wife
Julia Leidler (nee Freuder) and his son
Franz Leidler succeeded in finishing their studies at the Medical School and graduate in 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtarierpromotion'.
The Project ”
Remembering for the Future“, which creates permanent objects of memory to honor the deported and murdered people from Mariahilf district in Vienna, set
memorial stones in front of the "Theater an der Wien" (Linke Wienzeile 6) for Rudolf Leidler and 26 other victims.
