Ottokar ARNOLD, born on December 22^nd, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Oberinspektor Karl Arnold (clerk), lived in Vienna's 13^th district (today: 14^th), Weinzierlgasse 9-11. He had graduated from high school ("Bundesgymnasium Wien 13") in June 1935 end started to study medicine at the University of Vienna in fall term 1936/37. He was enrolled in spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 2^nd year of his studies. Allthough roman-catholic, he was discriminated as a so called "Mischling 2. Grades" and he could continue his studies at first - valid until revoked. After some uncertainties he could even finish his studies and graduated on March 9^th, 1942. He lived and worked as a physician (psychiatrist) in Vienna, became assistant teacher in the 1950ies at the psychiatric university-clinic (head: Prof. Hans Hoff), and habilitated on June 13^th 1955 for "psychiatry and neurology" at the University of Vienna and got the title (not the position) of an extrordinary professor on May 5^th 1962. He was senior physician ("Oberarzt") at the psychiatr.ic-neurological university-clinic an married his student fellow Dr. Susanna Hoefermayer (geb. Ceranke, 1921-2003), who was forced to leave the university in 1940 and was perpetrated as a "Mischling 1. Grades" and could graduate only in 1949. They lived in Vienna's 7^th district, Stiftgasse 21. He died aged 90 on December 13^th, 2008 in Vienna and is burried at Vienna Central Cemetery.
