Erika TERNER (married SCHOEN), born on August 28th, 1918 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Samuel Jakob Terner (merchant), lived in Wien 9, Lazarettgasse 5/17, was first enrolled in fall term 1936/37 until finally in spring term 1938 in the 2nd year of her studies at the Medical School.
On September 8th 1938 she emigrated with her family and her fiancé Kurt Schön, who was also expelled from the Vienna University as student at the Medical School, from Austria. They went by train to Koeln/Germany and took a Rhine-cruiser to Rotterdam/Netherlands. Because Erika Terner already had her visa for America and the ticket for the ship “New Amsterdam”, she soon left for New York/USA. Her fiancé had to wait for his visa and followed her in November 1938. On November 18th, 1938 she married Kurt Schoen in New York.
