Edith FORSCHNER (nee HOFFMANN), born on October 24
th, 1903 in Timisoara/Romania (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria) as daughter of Emerich Hoffmann (salesman), lived in Vienna 4th district, Blechturmgasse 22. After she had graduated from high school ("Grillparzer-Realgymnasium") in Vienna 14
th district she began to study at the University of Vienna to become a secondary school teacher. She was married to Dr. Zoltan Forschner (physician) and was finally enrolled in spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 2
nd year of her studies and took courses in English and Romance languages and literature Studies.
Edith Forschner finally lived in Vienna 6
th district, Fillgradergasse 12, and emigrated to Ramatgan/Palestine [Israel] on February 12
th, 1939, where she arrived on February 20
th. She received the Israeli citizenship and worked as a private teacher from 1952 on.
On October 30
th, 1962 she made an application for compensation for the loss in her education at the "Fonds zur Hilfeleistung an politisch Verfolgte, die ihren Wohnsitz und ständigen Aufenthalt im Ausland haben" (Hilfsfonds).
