Faculty: Medical School | Medical University Vienna
Category: Expelled student

Veronika OBLATH, born on May 23rd, 1918 in Budapest, Hungary/Austro-Hungarian Empire [Hungary] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Varazdin/Yugoslavia [Croatia], citizenship 1938: Yugoslavia), daughter of Julius Oblath (manufacturer in Varaždin), lived at a different address each term as a subtenant, last in Vienna's 1st district, Herrengasse 6. In June 1936, she had passed her school-leaving examination ("Matura") at the girls' secondary school in Vienna's 18th district, Gymnasiumstraße 38 and began studying medicine at the University of Vienna in the fall term of 1936/37. She was last enrolled at the Medical School in the 2nd year of her studies.

In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna (Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on July 18th, 1938).

Even after the end of National Socialism, no doctorate by her under this name can be found until 1954, and she is unlikely to have resumed her studies.

Nothing is known about her further life.
