Felix KURREIN, born on October 26th, 1918 in Karlsruhe /Germany (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Linz/Upper Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Viktor Kurrein (rabbi, 1881-1954) and Stella Kurrein, née Lewin, lived in Vienna's 9
th district, Wasagasse 31/21, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 2
nd year of his studies.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna. Like his cousin
Hilda Kurrein (married Goldstein, 1919-2004), who was in her first year of medical studies.
His parents and his younger brother Adolf (1920-1998, later: Allen Adolf Curran) were able to escape from Nazi Vienna and to emigrate to Great Britain. It is still unclear whether he was able to flee and emigrate to Great Britain, too.
