Kurt Egon KARASZ, born on October 13th, 1916 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency 1938 ("heimatberechtigt"') for Senica near Bratislava/Czechoslovakia [Senec/Slovakia], citizenship 1938: Czechoslovakia), son of Emil Karasz (1886-1943, merchant) and Friederike (Frieda) Karasz, née Kann (1893-1943), first lived in Vienna's 17th district, Umlaufgasse 21, later in Vienna's 9th district, Berggasse 39. After his graduation from high school ("Bundesrealgymnasium" in Vienna's 18th district, Schopenhauerstrasse), he began to study at the Medical School of the University of Vienna. He was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 in the 3rd year of his studies
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna - Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on June 24th, 1938.
He perished in the Shoah.
His parents Emil and Frieda Karasz were deported from Prague to Theresienstadt [Terezín/Czech Republic] on July 30th, 1942, and on February 1st, 1943, to Auschwitz [Oswiecim/Poland], where they were murdered.
His brother Felix Karasz (born on January 24th 1923) was also deported to Auschwitz via Theresienstadt in 1943 and did not survive.
