Mendel HENIG, born on May 20th, 1914 in Krakow/Poland (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Berl Henig (born on December 2nd, 1891 in Uszczyki/Poland, merchant) and his wife Mirl Henig (born on February 23rd, 1893 in Roswadow [Rozvadov/Czech Republic], lived in Vienna 7th district, Westbahnstrasse 27-29/58.
Mendel Henig was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 4th year of his studies (Leaving Certificate ('Abgangszeugnis') was issued on May 17th, 1938, fall term 1937/38 was validated on February 4th, 1938). His parents were deported from Drancy/France to Auschwitz/Poland on December 7th, 1943 and were murdered there. Mendel Henig himself was able to emigrate to New York/USA and received the US-American citizenship on Dezember 27th, 1955. He died in Israel on August 7th, 2001.
