Katharina (Kaethe) HERSCHMANN, born on July 31st, 1914 in Vienna (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Josef Herschmann (born on September 15th, 1880 in Jungbunzlau [Mladá Boleslav/Czech Republic]; railway official) and his wife Anna (born on October 16th, 1893 in Vienna), lived in Vienna 12th district, Strohberggasse 14/.
Katharina Herschmann was enrolled finally in spring term 1937 in the 5th year of her studies ('Absolutorium' was certified on July 18th, 1938) and was preparing for the final exams ('Rigorosen') in 1938. She could finally finish her studies and graduated on July 21st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtarierpromotion', which included at the same time that she was banned from her profession.

Her parents moved from their apartment in Vienna 12th district, Strohberggasse 14/6, to Vienna 2nd district, Haidgasse 5/1/2/24 in November 1938, to Vienna 19th district, Pyrkengasse 38/7 in October 1940, and to Vienna 9th district, Scheuchgasse 19/15 in June 1941. On January 11th, 1942 both were deported from Vienna 9th district, Glasergasse 19 to Ghetto Riga, where Josef Herschmann died. Anna Herschmann was later deported to Stutthof concentration camp, where she died on December 31st, 1944.
