Peter HARTMANN, born on July 28
th, 1916 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Dr. Josef Hartmann (physician, 1876-1945), lived in Vienna 7
th district, Kirchberggasse 43. He has graduated from high school ("Bundesrealgymnasium Wien VIII., Albertgasse 18-22"), in June 1934 and started with his medical studies at the University of Vienna in fall term 1934/35 and was enrolled finally in the fall term 1938/39 at the Medical School in the 5
th year of his studies (fall term 1938/39 was validated on March 24
th, 1939).
He was discriminated for racist reasons in times of National-Socialism as a so called "Mischling 1. Grades" and he could continue with his studies only with special permission and at any time revocation provisionally.
Finally he could graduate on November 25
th, 1939 and gained his medical degree "Dr.med.univ.".
Subsequently, he was drafted into the German Wehrmacht from 1939-1940 and served in the military service 17 in Vienna (silver medal of the German Red Cross).
He worked thereupon in the clinic Ransi/Vienna, 1941-1943 in the hospital Gmuend/Lower Austria, and 1943-1945 in the hospital Oberpullendorf/Burgenland [1938-1945: Lower Austria] and from 1945 on he worked as a practical doctor in own practice (1945-1978 as community doctor of Kirchschlag/Lower Austria) and received the title of a Obermedizinalrat.
Since 1945 he was married to Stephanie, née Saliger (b. 1920).
