Gerhart HAUPTMANN, born on February 23^th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Rudolf Hauptmann lived in Vienna 20^th district, Klosterneuburgerstrasse 33/8, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 5th and last year of his studies ('Absolutorium' was certified on March 15^th, 1939). In 1938 he was in danger to have to quit his studies and to leave the University of Vienna for racist reason after the takeover of power of National-Socialism. He was regarded as "Mischling 2. Grades" but he could finally finish his studies and graduated on March 17^th, 1939 and was also admitted to the Vienna Medical Association ("Donauland") as a doctor on the same date. He initially lived in Vienna 9^th, Liechtensteinstrasse 103 / 7a, later in Vienna 2^nd, Lilienbrunngasse 13/14 and was married. He could not open his own practice as a socalled "Mischling" and had no employment as a doctor but was rather "on probation" drafted into the German Wehrmacht, Obergefreiter and bearer of the Iron Cross II, the Panzerkampfabzeichen and the East Medal 1941/42. He died on August 15^th, 1942 "in the East".
