Fritz HATSCHEK, born on January 25
th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Karl Hatschek (dentist), lived in Vienna 1
st district, Stubenbastei 1, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 5
th and last year of his studies (Leaving Certificate ["Abgangszeugnis"] was issued on September 15
th, 1938).
After the takeover of power of National-Socialism in 1938 he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason without a chance to graduate. He requested to continue his studies in the context of the 2% numerus clausus of Jewish Students, and was able to enroll for a few months but soon was forced to leave the University of Vienna without graduation.
He lived in Prague during World War II and perished in the Shoah and also his parents were deported and murdered, only his sister Lisbeth could emigrate to Great Britain and survived from the family.
