Georg HALLE, born on March 21
st, 1914 in Caransebeș/Romania (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Caransebeș, Citizenship: Romania), son of Robert Halle (merchant), lived in Vienna's 9
th district, Harmoniegasse 5, was enrolled finally in spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 3
rd year of his studies (spring term 1938 was validated on October 11
th, 1938).
He was forced to quit his studies and to leave the University of Vienna under National Socialism after the "Anschluss" for racist reasons (leaving certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on December 20
th, 1938).
He was able to emigrate to Switzerland, resume and complete his studies under difficult conditions, and in the early 1960s worked as a doctor for the Swiss Red Cross in Bern. From about 1967, he then worked as a general practitioner in Switzerland - in Sins in the canton of Aargau, in Sierre in the canton of Valais, and finally with his own practice in the community of Lungern in the canton of Oberwalden.
He died in May 1982 in Lungern, Canton Oberwalden/Switzerland.
