Paul Hacker

Paul (Georg) HACKER, born on September 5th, 1913 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Dr. Moritz Hacker (dentist) and Stella Hacker, née Königstein, lived in Vienna's 9th district, Frankgasse 4, was last enrolled in the fall term of 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5th and last year of his studies.

In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his almost completed studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna ("Absolutorium" was certified on July 15th, 1938).

He was able to emigrate to the United States on October 22nd, 1938, where he married Thea Ruff (1918–2005), a native of Moravia, in 1942. She had entered the United States in 1940 via Sydney, Australia, and San Francisco.
Paul G. Hacker  became a U.S. citizen in Newark, NJ, in 1944, was an executive, chemical firm, and last lived at 198 Seminary Avenue, Yonkers, NY.

Paul George Hacker died of heart failure on July 2nd, 1961, in Basel, Switzerland, at the age of just 48, and was buried in the local Jewish cemetery.
