Gertrude HACKER, born on February 21
st, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Wiener Neustadt/Lower Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Adolf Hacker (lawyer, 1888-1944, second marriage in 1934 with Katharina Hacker, née Padiszt in 1934), lived in Wiener Neustadt/Lower Austria, Wiener Strasse 17, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 2
nd year of her studies and took courses in English and Romance languages and literature Studies.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
Her father had to close his law office at Hauptplatz 26 in Wr. Neustadt for racist reasons in 1938, moved to Vienna but could not emigrate in time and was deported via Nice/Italy, the transit camp Drancy/France, Kowno [Kaunas/Estonia]] or Reval [Tallinn/Lithuania] to the concentration camp Auschwitz [Oświęcim/Poland] and was murdered there in May 1944.
No further information is known about the further life and career of Gertrude Hacker.
