Erwin HACKER, born on December 17th, 1913 in Wiener Neustadt/Lower Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Wiener Neustadt/Lower Austria, Citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Josef Hacker (1879-1947, merchant) and Adelheid Hacker (1878-1949), lived in Vienna's 8th district, Zeltgasse 3. In the summer of 1932, he passed the school-leaving examination (Reifepruefung/Matura) at the Bundesreformrealgymnasium VIII (Vienna's 8th district, Albertgasse 39) and subsequently began to study law at the University of Vienna in the fall term of 1932/33. After a two-years break in 1934-1936, he was last enrolled at the Law School in the spring term of 1938 in the 4th and last year of his studies. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna. He had to flee Vienna and was able to emigrate to Great Britain in time with his parents and brother Robert (b. 1910) in 1939. In England they first lived in Finchley, Middlesex and in spring 1949 he married Miriam Riwlin (1926-1988) in Paddington, London. Erwin HACKER died in September 1994 in London, England/Great Britain.
