Lydia BACHRICH (married: MUNDY), born on June 12th, 1912 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Lichtenbuch/Upper Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), daughter of Ing. Ludwig Bachrich (engineer) and Sofie, née Gurwitsch (painter, houswife) Bachrich, lived in Vienna's 1st district, Ebendorferstrasse 2, was enrolled finally  in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 4th year of her studies

After the takeover of power of National-Socialism in March 1938 she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason without a chance to graduate. She requested to continue her studies in the context of the 2% Numerus Clausus of Jewish Students, was first allowed to continue for about two months. However, she was no longer allowed to enter the university hospital and finally had to leave the University of Vienna (Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on June 22nd, 1938) and was already working at the Rothschild Hospital.

She was able to emigrate to Great Britain in August 1938 and initially worked as a nurse maid for threee children in Scotland. 1943 she married in Ilkeston, Derbyshire Lionel Anderson Mundy. Lydia Mundy was able to continue her studies in London from 1946 and graduated in psychology in 1948 and then worked as an educational psychologist in Kent. In 1952 she became a member of the British Psychoanalytic Association with the support of Anna Freud - later worked at St. Albans Clinic as a child psychoanalyst, psychiatrist, psychologist and therapist and as an educational psychologist at St. George Hospital and later at the Wessex Unit for Cildren and parents in Portmouth 1966.
