Erika GRUSCHOWNIG (nee SOYKA, married GRUSCHOWNIG-HEIM), born on March 16th, 1900 in Reichenberg/Bohemia [Liberec/Czech Republic] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Marburg/Yugoslavia [Maribor/Slovenia], Citizenship: Yugoslavia), was the daughter of Karl Soyka (merchant, Reichenberg).
After she had graduated from high school ('Reformrealgymnasium') in Hohenelbe/Bohemia [Vrchlabí/Czech Republic] in 1919, she married and moved to Vienna 9th district, Lackierergasse 1. In fall term 1932/33 she began to study medicine at the University of Vienna. She was enrolled finally in the fall term 1938/39 at the Medical School in the 5th year of her studies. She was discriminated as a so called 'Mischling 1. Grades' and she was enabled continue her studies at first - valid until revoked.
