Wilhelm GORGIAS (later: Willi DAVIS), born on July 23
rd, 1915 in Gyoer/Hungary (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Dr. Leopold Gorgias (dental technician), lived in Vienna's 9
th district, Bindergasse 8/14, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 3
rd year of his studies (fall term 1937/38 was devalidated on February 2
nd, 1938 due to a lack of attandance ("mangels der Frequenzbestätigung"); Leaving Certificate ("Abgangszeugnis") was issued on July 18
th, 1938, ).
His elder sister
Leonore Gorgias, who studied at the Philosophical School, was also expelled from the University of Vienna.
Wilhelm Gorgias escaped to England and then got on a ship to Madagascar. He eventually ended up in Southern Rhodesia [Zimbabwe]. He changed his name to Willi Davis and owned a camera and liquor store in Shabani/Southern Rhodesia [Zvishavane/Zimbabwe] which was on a Safari route.
He married Maizie and never had children.
He died in 1988 at the age of 73.
