Egon GOLLERSTEPPER, born on October 16th, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Max Gollerstepper (merchant, born April 27, 1886 in Vienna) and his wife Ida (born on March 28, 1885), lived in Vienna 21st district, Floridsdorfer Hauptstrasse 35 together with his parents and his younger brother Otto Gollerstepper (born December 26, 1917 in Vienna).
After he had graduted from high school ("Gymnasium") in Vienna 21st district he began to study medicine at the University of Vienna in fall term 1934/35 and was enrolled finally in spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 4th year of his studies. In spring term 1938 he could continue his studies in the context of the Numerus clausus of Jewish Students until the end of the term, but was deported to Dachau in 1938.
Egon Gollerstepper was released from the concentration camp and was able to prepare the emigration to Palestine [Israel]. He was given a licence (DR3905) to practise medicine by the Director of Medical Services in July 1947 as listed in the Palestine Gazette. His address is given as 81, Ben Yehuda Street, Tel Aviv. His brother Otto and his mother Ida may have emigrated to the USA and lived in New Jersey.
