Edith FEIGL, born on May 28th, 1920 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Oskar Feigl (pharmacist), lived in Vienna 13th district, Nisselgasse 17, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1938/39 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of her studies and took courses in pharmaceutics. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism, she was discriminated for racist reason as a so called "Mischling 1. Grades" with restrictions on her studies - she could continue her studies at first – valid until revoked – which happened in 1st Trimester 1940 by the Reichserziehungsministerium Berlin. Later on, there was made an exception for her and she succeeded in finishing her studies, but at the same time she was not allowed to practice. On May 30th, 1940, Reichserziehungsministerium Berlin forbid enrolling: "nach der staendigen Verwaltungspraxis [ist] eine Zulassung zu den pharmazeutischen Pruefungen und eine Erteilung der Bestallung als Apotheker für Mischlinge 1. Grades ausgeschlossen". But in 1st Trimester 1941 she was allowed to continue her studies – again valid only until revoked. She could finish her pharmaceutical studies only after the end of the National-Socialist regime and graduated to "Mag.pharm." on August 3rd, 1945. In 1946 she also succeeded in taking the aspirant examination, to be allowed to practice in pharmacies.
