He was protestant ("evangel. A.B."), but was persecuted under National Socialism as a "Jew" and was forced to abandon his studies and leave the University of Vienna after the "Anschluss" for racist reasons ("Absolutorium" issued on September 23rd, 1938).

That same year, he had also married U.S.-born music therapist and singer Shirley Isabelle Sklar (1922-1989) in Philadelphia. They had two children: Dr. Jeffrey Faludi and Susan-Lynn Faludi Johnson.

Heinz Faludi moved to Shreveport with his wife in 1951/52 and became one of the founders of L.S.U. Medical School in Shreveport, LA. He was involved in promoting art at the medical school and served as honorary chief of neurosurgery for fifteen years. From 1951 until his retirement in 1986, Heinz operated a private practice in Shreveport. He was chief resident at P&S, Doctors and L.S.U hospitals and was on the staff of all hospitals in the community. He was active in the Louisiana State Neurological Society.

He died October 17th, 2002, in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas/USA, and is buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Red Chute, Bossier Parish, Louisiana/USA.
