Kurt EIGERMANN (born on January 17th, 1906 in Vienna/Austro-Hungarian Empire (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna, citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Leonhard Eigermann (1872-1931, head of the Gersthof branch of the Wiener Bank-Verein) and Helene Eigermann, née Perlis (1881-1942), he lived in Vienna's 9th district, Universitaetsstrasse 4, and passed his school-leaving examination (Matura) on June 12th, 1925 at the Bundesgymnasium VIII in Vienna's 8th district, Jodok-Fink-Platz, and was enrolled at the Philosophical School of the University of Vienna from the fall term of 1925/26 to the spring term of 1933, studying mathematics, physics as well as psychology and pure philosophy, and had since been in the examination stage.
He had registered for the final examinations/viva voce ("Rigorosen") on December 21st, 1936 and submitted his mathematics dissertation from the field of number theory with the title "Klassifikation der Ringklassengruppen in reell-quadratischen Zahlkoerpern" (Supervisors: Prof. Furtwaengler, Prof. Mayerhofer), which had also been very positively approved on February 22nd, 1937. The examiners for the two vivas were still assigned, but before the examination dates could also be fixed, the procedure was aborted.
Kurt Eigermann was unable to escape from Vienna in time and was deported from Vienna to Nisko [Poland] on October 20th, 1939, where he was murdered (the exact date of death is not known).
His mother Helene was also deported about two years later on August 14th, 1942 from the "Jewish collective apartment" in Vienna's 2nd district, Krummbaumgasse 6/15 to Maly Trostinec [Малы Трасцянец/Belarus] near Minsk, where she was murdered four days later.
