Helene EHRLICH (married KIPPEL), born on July 12th, 1919 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), daughter of Dr. Leopold Ehrlich (1877-1972, writer, pseudonym: Leopold Hichler), and Arabella Ehrlich, geb. Bernstein (1889-?), lived in Vienna's 19th district, Nedergasse 12. She graduated from highschool ("Maedchenrealgymnasium in Vienna's 19th district, Billrothstrasse") in 1937 and started to study in fall term 1937/38. She was enrolled finally in spring term 1938 at the Medical School of the University of Vienna in the 1st year of her studies.
She was forced to discontinue her studies and leave the University of Vienna under National Socialism after the "Anschluss" for racist reasons
She and her family had to flee Austria and she was able to emigrate to Palestine [Israel] in time, where she arrived September 19th, 1938. Her father was also able to emigrate to Palestine in 1938 and returned to Austria in 1945. She remained in Israel, worked in agriculture and was able to obtain Palestinian citizenship in August 1941. She married Joseph Kippel (1908-1999), who was born in Freistadt [Karviná/Czech Republic]. Their daughter Ronny Kippel (née Perlman) was born in Jerusalem/Palestine [Israel] on November 10th, 1944.
In 1970 Helene Kippel was a member of the board of the Jewish Community in Mainz/Germany.
