Lisbet DEUTSCH (DENTON, married FLEISHER, married RAWSKI), born on March 3
rd, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Maurus Deutsch (1883-1962, lawyer) and Ida, née Alberti (1893-1963), lived in Vienna's 4
th district, Schleifmuehlgasse 1/a, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 3
rd year of her studies and took courses in musicology.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
She had to flee from Austria under National-Socialist rule and she was able to emigrate - together with her sister Susanne Lore Helene (b. 1925, Susan Lore Helen Woods Pate), her brother Josef Wilhelm (b. 1914) and her parents - to Australia. They changed their surname from "Deutsch" to "Denton". She was married twice, first to Vienna born Conrad Henry Rawski (b. 1914) second to Joseph Fleisher - and had two children with her first husband. Whether shecould continue studying or working in the field of musicology is not yet known, but she gained a MS. in Library Science from Syracuse University, New York.
She deceased aged 93 on May 9th, 2010 in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio/USA.
