Dr. jur. Heinrich BRAUN, born on October 31st, 1901 in Komotau/Southern Bohemia [Chomutov/Czech Republic] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Dr. Stefan Braun (lawyer in Komotau, deceased), lived in Wien 8, Feldgasse 23, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 3rd year of his studies and took courses in Ethnology.He he already the academic degree of a "Dr.iur." (Dr. LL) and was employed at the Vienna Police in the "Polizeikommissariat Margarethen", in Viennas 5th district, a wirking class area.
Although he mentioned his religion with "rom.-cath." he was forced to leave the University of Vienna after the so called "Anschluss" and he was deported from Vienna to the concentration camp in Dachau on April 2nd, 1938 (the Gestapo mention as reason for imprisonment an deprotation: "Schutzhaft: Jude". On September 1938 he was transferred to the oncentration camp Buchenwald where he died on February 24th, 1940.
