Gustav ZIEGLER, born on May 30th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Gustav Ziegler (public transport driver), lived in Vienna's 10th district, Laxenburgerstrasse 49. He was enrolled finally until fall term 1938/39 at the Medical School in the 2nd year of his studies.
He was conscripted to the German Wehrmacht. Twice he made a prediction to officers of the Wehrmacht about a German defeat. This was enough to be arrested and accused of "Wehrkraftzersetzung". On June 23rd, 1944 he was sentenced to death by the "Volksgerichtshof" and was beheaded on August 30th, 1944 at the "Landesgericht Wien". Corpse and head were handed over to the nearby anatomical institute of the University of Vienna as dissection material for other medical students.
