Thaddäus WIESELBERG-SOKAL, born on January 21st, 1914 in Kolomea, Galicia/Austro-Hungaria [later: Poland, today: Kolomyja|Коломия/Ukraine] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Jakob Wieselberg (civil servant) and Mirele/Mirce, geb. Jekel, lived in Vienna's 2nd district, Ausstellungsstrasse 33/17, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 3rd year of his studies. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies and to leave the University of Viennafor racist reasons. He had to flee Vienna and was able to emigrate to Belgium, where he lived in Brussels at rue du Pont-Neuf/Nieuwe Brug 7. He was deported from Malines to Auschwitz [Oswiecim/Poland] on August 4th, 1942. Thaddäus WIESELBERG-SOKAL was deported from Kazern Dossin (Mecheln) to the German concentration camp Auschwitz [Oświęcim]/Poland on August 4th, 1942 and murdered.
