Viola Maria TINTNER (later married: DIRNHOFER), born on September 19th, 1913 in Munich/German Reich (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), daughter of Leon Tintner (merchant), lived in Vienna's 4th district, Danhausergasse 7, was enrolled in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 4th year of her studies.
She was Roman Catholic, but discriminated under National Socialism as she was considered a "Mischling of the 2nd degree” and could only continue her studies provisionally - subject to revocation at any time.
Before the regulations for "Mischlinge" in medical studies were tightened, she was still able to obtain her doctorate in medicine from the University of Vienna on March 8th, 1940.
She later married and, after working as a temporary doctor at the Semmelweis Women's Clinic and as a school doctor at the Mother's Advisory Service, was licensed as a general practitioner by the Vienna Medical Association in October 1947 and practised in Vienna's 10th district, Schröttergasse 2 and lived in Vienna's 4th district, Danhausergasse 7.
Dr. Viola Maria Dirnhofer, née Tintner, died in Vienna at the beginning of 1971 and was buried at the Vienna-Baumgarten cemetery on February 17th, 1971.
