Egon TAUBER, born on May 22nd, 1916 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Holič pri Morave/Czechoslovakia, Citizenship: Czechoslovakia), son of Emanuel (Mano) Tauber (architect), lived in Wien 1, Postgasse 1, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School (Leaving Certificate ('Abgangszeugnis') was issued on November 30th, 1938).
Egon Tauber’s family began to prepare for the emigration after the Berchtesgaden Agreement on February 12th, 1938. After the "Anschluss" and the confiscation on the family’s property the Tauber family – of Czechoslovakian citizenship – emigrated to Egon Tauber‘s birth city Holič, where they lived in the house of the grandmother. Egon Tauber continued studying medicine using text books and his lecture notes, but had to give up his hope to finish his studies soon.
He got a job at a bakery (Hitschmann), contunued reading his text book for pathological anatomy and became secretary of the local refugee group "armigranti".
He was deported and died in Auschwitz [Oświęcim/Poland] on June 7th, 1942.
