Gideon Hans STEIN (later STEWART), born on May 17th, 1918 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Stein (high school professor), lived in Wien 19, Hardtgasse 6, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 2nd year of his studies and took courses in Classical Philology.
He emigrated to the USA in 1939, studied Linguistics and Foreign Languages and graduated in 1941 (B.A.), he continued his studies after four years in the US Army, graduated at Columbia University (M.A.) and became a College Professor.
