Erika SCHÖN, born on September 27th, 1912 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna, citizenship 1938: Austria), daughter of Samuel Schön (?-1938, electrical engineer) and Olga, née Leisner (?-1949), non-denominational (September 4th , 1928 left the Jewish community Vienna), lived in Vienna's 7th district, Neustiftgasse 3, was last enrolled in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 3rd year of er studies and attended lectures in botany and zoology.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
She was able to flee Austria in time. She later married Jenő Széll (1912-1994) with whom she had three children, including Peter Széll (1945-2013) and András Széll (1947-2012).
In the 1960s to 1980s she appeared in the Budapest Corbina publishing house as a translator of music-historical works into German. For the time being, nothing is known about her further life.
Jenőné Erika Széll, née Erika Schön, died in Budapest in 2005 and is buried there at the Fiumei Úti Nemzeti Sírkert.
