Magdalena SCHNABEL (nee KAHAN), born on September 26
th, 1903 in Sziget, Hungary/Austro-Hungarian Empire [Sighetu Marmației/Romania] (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Ludwig Kahan (lawyer, deceased), lived in Vienna's 13
th district, Mittermayergasse 2/I/3, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 6
th year of her studies and took courses in Pharmaceutics and Chemistry.
She succeeded in finishing her studies on but only with the discriminating ceremony of a 'Nichtariersponsion' which included at the same time that she was banned from her profession.
In 1938 she was forced to quit her studies and to leave the University of Vienna for racist reason after the takeover of power of National-Socialism. But after numerous incertainties she could finally finish her studies and graduated on October 31
st, 1938, but only with the discriminating ceremony of a "Nichtariersponsion", which included at the same time that she was banned from his profession as a pharmacist.
