Lola Ringel (verh. Webb)

Lola RINGEL (married WEBB), born on May 1st, 1914 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria) as daughter of Samuel (Intrator) Ringel (1876-1925) and Rosa Ruchla Ringel (nee Horowitz, 1884-1942), died on November 29th, 2002 in London, lived in Wien 17, Frauengasse 1/3. She was enrolled from fall term 1934/35 until finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 4th year of her studies and took courses in Oriental Studies, Classical Philology and Art History.
In December 1938 Lola Ringel and her sister Zäzilie fled to England, where she worked as a nurse. In the 1950ies she emigrated to Israel, where her brothers lived since 1938. She married Arthur Webb and they returned to London, where she worked as a translator.

The exhibition "Ausgegrenzt, Vertrieben, Ermordet" (January 22nd - May 14th, 2010) at the Department of History of Art of the University of Vienna is dedicated to the memory of Lola Ringel and 20 other former students of the University of Vienna focused on art history.
