Fritz Pollatschek

Fritz POLLATSCHEK, born on July 5th, 1911 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, citizenship 1938: Austria), son of Max Pollatschek (1882-1942, merchant), and Martha Pollatschek, née Weiser (1888-1942) lived in Vienna's 10th district, Reumannplatz 1, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 5th and last year of his studies and took courses in chemistry.

He was forced to abandon his studies and leave the University of Vienna under National Socialism after the "Anschluss" for racist reasons.

He had to flee Austria, but was arrested before he could do so and deported to the Dachau concentration camp. He was already killed on the transport to the camp on June 2nd, 1938.
His parents were also unable to escape in time and were deported from Prague to Theresienstadt [Terezin] on July 27th, 1942 and from there transferred to Maly Trostinec on August 25th, 1942 and murdered.
