Ruth BUCHBINDER (married: KLEINBERG), born on September 2
nd, 1919 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Ing. Eugen Buchbinder (master builder, 1886-1971) and Margit Buchbinder (née Neumann), lived in Vienna's 2
nd district, Taborstrasse 11 b. She graduated from sesondary school as an extern ("Elisabethgymnasium in Wien 5") in July 1937 and subsequently started to study at the University of Vienna in fall term of 1937/28. She was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 1
st year of her studies and took courses in English language and literature Studies and in History.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism she was forced to quit her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
She had to flee Vienna, but married Max Ing. Adam Kleinberg (?-1987), a graduate of the Vienna University of Technology. Her father, Ing. Eugen Buchbinder, a member of the presidium of the Jewish Community of Vienna, a Zionist, a Freemason (from 1933, Lessing Lodge of the Three Rings) and a member of the Jewish student fraternity "Kadimah" emigrated to Palestine [Israel] in 1938, later to England (London, later Salford, to his daughter Ruth) where he died in 1971.
Ruth Kleinberg emigrated to Britain and went to Lancashire where she lived in Liverpool (18/11 Silverbeech Avenue) in the 1950s and 1960s, later at 12 Redford Street in Salford (Greater Manchester), Lancashire, England. She had two children. She was unable to resume her studies in emigration.
