Renate Himmel

Renate HIMMEL, born on December 25th, 1917 in Drerau/Czechoslovakia (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Drohobycz/Poland, citizenship 1938: Poland), daughter of Leon Himmel (physician, deceased), lived in Vienna's 9th district, Lackierergasse 1/2, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of her studies and took courses in English and Oriental language and literature Studies.

In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he she was forced to quit his her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
Her elder brother Zygmunt Himmel, who studied at the Medical School, was also expelled from the University of Vienna.
