Philipp GROSS (born on September 30th, 1899 in Vienna, died on May 20th, 1974 in London) was Pd. (ao. Prof.) for Chemie (Theoretische und physikalische Chemie) at the Philosophical School of the University of Vienna. 
He was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost his position and was thrown out of the university in 1938. He was able to emigrate to Eton/Great Britain.
