Paul FUHRMANN, born on November 27
th, 1915 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Moses/Max Fuhrmann (invalidity pensioner) and Bertha, née Seidner, lived in Vienna's 3
rd district, Untere Weissgerberstrasse 26. In 1934 he had passed his school-leaving examination (Reifepruefung/Matura) at the Bundesgymnasium in Vienna's 3
rd district, Kundmanngasse 22, and in the fall term of 1935/36 he began to study at the University of Vienna. He was enrolled last in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 3
rd year of his studies and took courses in Ancient History and Classical Philology.
In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
He had to flee Vienna and was able to emigrate to England/Great Britain, but in 1939 he was interned as an
enemy alien in Kitchener Camp, Richborough, Sandwich, Kent.
