Leopold Weinberger

Leopold WEINBERGER, born on August 11th, 1877 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Jacob Weinberger (merchant, deceased), himself also a merchant lived in Vienna's 1st district, Weihburggasse 5, was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Philosophical School in the 7th year of his studies and took courses in History and Art History. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he was forced to quit his studies - at the age of 61 - for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna. He was no more able to flee Vienna and was deported from Vienna to Theresienstadt [Terezín/Czech Republic] on October 1st, 1942 and died there in the smae month on October 19th, 1942.
