Leon MERKER, born on November 14th, 1917 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Gerson Merker (merchant), lived in Wien 2, Nestroygasse 6/12a, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 3rd year of his studies and took courses in Chemistry. His elder brother
Oskar Merker, who studied at the Medical School, was also expelled from the University of Vienna.
He emigrated to Italy and England, where he was imprisoned in the Kitchener Camp. In 1940 he emigrated to the USA. He studied at the University of Michigan and later worked as a chemist.
