Karl EISINGER (born on May 24th, 1895 in Vienna) was lecturer ('Dozent') for otorhinolaryngology at the Medical School of the University of Vienna. He had started to study medicine at the University of Vienna but had to join the Austro-Hungarian army in First Wold War 1915-1918 but could continue his studies and graduated on December 17th, 1920 to "Dr. med." (M.D.). He habilitated in 1933 for otorhinolaryngology ("Die Wertung und Verwendung der Röntgenbefunde in d. Otologie"). He was persecuted in times of Nazism as a Jew lost his position and was thrown out of the university on April 22nd, 1938. He had to flee and he could emigrate to Great Britain in about 1939, where he could work as a doctor. He became a member of the "Association of Austrian Doctors in Great Britain" and in the 1950ies he became controlling physician of the Vienese"Hilfsfonds für die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus". He was a member of the Austrian, the German and the Bulgarian Society for Otorhinolaryngology and of the Austrian Biological Society.

He died in London in 1956.
