Josef SAPIRO, born on June 30th, 1919 in Cetatea-Alba/Romania [Bilhorod-Dnistrowskyj/Ukraine] (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Riga/Latvia, Citizenship: Latvia), son of Leo Sapiro (white-collar worker in Riga), lived in Vienna's 9th district, Glasergasse 11/12a. In 1937 he had passed the school-leaving examination (Reifepruefung/Matura) as an external student at the Bundesrealgymnasium in Vienna 21. He was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Philosophical School in the 1st year of his studies and took courses in Psychology and History. In 1938, after the takeover of power of National-Socialism he she was forced to quit his her studies for racist reason and to leave the University of Vienna.
