Hilda KURREIN (married GOLDSTEIN), born on December 21
st, 1919 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Isidor Kurrein (physician, 1879-1942) and Elsa Kurrein, née Kafka (1896-1942), lived in Vienna's 16
th district, Koppstrasse 3. She had graduated in 1937 at the Realgymnasium of the Schwarzwldschule (Vienna 1., Wallnerstrasse 9) and started to study medicine at the University of Vienna in fall term 1937/38. She was enrolled finally in the spring term 1938 at the Medical School in the 1
st year of her studies.
After the "Anschluss" under National-Socialist rules she was forced to quit her studies and to leave the University of Vienna for racist reasons. Like her cousin
Felix Kurrein (born 1918), who was in his second year of medical studies.
Hilda Kurrein married Hans Goldstein (1922-1943) in Vienna - her parents Isidor and Elsa, her sister Eva (1924-1942) and her husband Hans became victims of the Holocaust and were murdered in Auschwitz. She managed to escape to Palestine [Israel], where she spent her life.
Hilda Goldstein, née Kurrein, died on May 30
th, 2004 in Israel.
