Helene ZEISSL (married LOEBENSTEIN), born on July 18
th, 1918 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ("heimatberechtigt") for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), daughter of Dr. Hermann Zeissl (senior official "Ministerialrat"), lived in Vienna's 19
th district, Weimarer Strasse 102, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1938/39 at the Philosophical School in the 3
rd year of her studies and took courses in Oriental Studies, Linguistics and History.
She was discriminated as a so called 'Mischling 1. Grades' but could continue her studies at first - valid until revoked. Although the
Reichserziehungsministerium Berlin did not allow her to finish her studies, with the help of the dean and the professor for egyptology she was - as an exception - allowed to promote on July 25
th, 1940 with her dissertation in Egyptology: 'Aethiopen und Assyrer in Aegypten. Beitraege zur Geschichte der aegyptischen 'Spaetzeit'.' (doctoral advisor: Czermak).
She died on October 27
th, 2010 in Vienna.
