Hans SCHAUDER, born on November 22nd, 1911 in Vienna/Austria (entitled residency ('heimatberechtigt') for Vienna/Austria, Citizenship: Austria), son of Josef Schauder (civil servant), lived in Wien 2, Untere Augartenstraße 19, was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5th year of his studies ('Absolutorium' was certified on July 5th, 1938).
He emigrated to Switzerland and succeeded in finishing his medical studies there at the University of Basel. In 1940 he married Elisabeth (Lisl) Schwalb (who also had to flee from Vienna in 1938) - they had three daughters. They joined the anthroposophical group around Dr. Karl König in Kirkton House, Culsalmond, near Insch, Aberdeenshire/Scotland. After internment on the Isle of Man in 1940 Hans Schauder joined the work in
Camphill, and left in 1944 to start a similar school near Edinburgh.
