Hans LOEW-BEER, born on August 19^th, 1907 in Vienna, son of Ernst Löw-Beer (general manager of bank Merkur, retired, born 1879), and of Hermine Barbara, née Wagerer, lived in Viennas' 12^th district, Arndtstrasse 89. His parents had married in 1906 at the temple Seitenstettengasse in Vienna, but his father resigned from the Jewish Community in 1920. Hans Loew-Beer was enrolled finally in the fall term 1937/38 at the Medical School in the 5^th and last year of his studies. Although roman-catholic, he was discriminated as a so called "Mischling 1. Grades" and could not continue with his studies and was forced to leave the university. His younger sister Hermine Loew-Beer and her later husband Johannes Frischauf could continue with their medical studies with restrictions although dicriminated as "Mischling 1. Grades" and could finally finish their studies at the University of Vienna in times of National-Socialism. His parents survived National-Socialism and changed their names in October 1945 from "Loew-Beer" to "Krammer" – it is not clear, whether this also the case for Hans Loew-Beer.
